EARNING CREDITS AND PLANNING FOR GRADUATION

Once students begin Grade Ten, they should start to keep track of the credits they earn. Please use the Graduation Checklists linked below to support this tracking.

Students earn one credit for each academic class they pass at the Grade Ten, Grade Eleven, and Grade Twelve levels. Students require a minimum of 24 credits to graduate from high school.

Our Guidance Counsellors and Administration do check credits for graduation, but it is the responsibility of each student to make sure that they have the requirements for graduation.

In Grade Ten students can begin to access the High School Planner in myBlueprint.ca; this tool is a career exploration program used by the Regina Catholic School Division. It is an excellent tool for planning high school courses and ensuring graduation eligibility.

Completion of graduation requirements will ensure a recognized Grade Twelve standing by Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Education. For information, post-secondary programs at Universities, Colleges, and Technical Schools may have specific entry criteria that must be met for admittance to a particular program. As students make their course selections in Grades Ten, Eleven, and Twelve, they should investigate entrance criteria for specific post-secondary programs. Our team of Guidance Counsellors can support this exploration.
