Principal's Message
On behalf of Miller Comprehensive Catholic High School’s staff, I extend a warm welcome to each of you. I am honored to return to Miller after a seven-year hiatus and join this vibrant educational community as the Miller principal. We are committed to providing an educational environment rooted in our Catholic values.
As a school community, we acknowledge that we are on Treaty Four Territory. This territory encompasses parts of Saskatchewan and Manitoba and is the traditional lands of the nêhiyawak /ᓀᐦᐃᔭᐊᐧᐠ, nakawē / ᓇᐦᑲᐌ /, and Nakota nations, and homeland of the Métis, Lakota, and Dakota nations. We recognize that these lands were inhabited long before the arrival of settlers, and that the Indigenous peoples who lived here had a deep connection to the land and its resources. The signing of Treaty Four in 1874 brought about significant changes to this land and its people, and we acknowledge the ongoing impacts of colonization and the intergenerational trauma that continues to affect Indigenous communities today. We commit to learning about the history and experiences of Indigenous peoples in this territory and across Canada. We acknowledge the importance of reconciliation and the need to build relationships based on mutual understanding and respect. We also recognize our responsibility to be good stewards of the land, and to work towards a more just and equitable society for all.
Our Catholic faith is at the heart of everything we do. We are called to be witnesses of Christ's love and to live out the Gospel values in our daily lives. Through prayer, sacraments, and religious education, we aim to deepen our relationship with God and nurture our students' spiritual growth.
We place a strong emphasis on fostering a caring and inclusive community. We celebrate the rich diversity of our students and families, and we strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and safe. Through acts of kindness, compassion, and social justice initiatives, we seek to make a positive difference in our school and beyond.
We strive for academic excellence, personal growth, and spiritual development. Our dedicated staff are here to support and guide you on your journey of discovery, equipping you with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for success in all aspects of life.
We recognize the unique gifts and talents of each individual and encourage you to embrace your strengths and passions. Our wide range of academic programs, clubs, and extra-curricular activities provide opportunities for you to explore your interests, develop leadership skills, and build lasting friendships. We believe that education extends beyond the classroom, and we encourage you to actively engage in the diverse learning experiences available to you.
Together, we will embrace the spirit of faith, knowledge, and community that defines the proud and rich tradition of Miller Comprehensive Catholic High School. With a shared commitment to excellence, compassion, and growth, we will create a vibrant learning environment where students can and will flourish.
Yours in Catholic Education,
Tyler Wright
